Message S2000s should be the best in terms of colour and cutoff. I wanted to do S2000 but the projectors are pricey and the frame is difficult to work with. I remember reading that it's one of the worst ones to work with, but if you do it the results are the best.

TSX projectors were somewhat difficult. But I stuck with it and within a weekend I had it installed and running. I did the passenger side first. That took me a full Saturday and part of Sunday. But after I understood how it would all fit I just spent a few hours on the drivers side and it turned out better. I also had to make custom metal brackets so the TSX projectors would sit securely in the housing. I had to paint the chrome bezel to flat black because there was too much glare if I left it stock.

E46 projectors are supposed to be far easier. A straight drop in, but I wanted the TSX for a few main reasons.
You can mod the TSX projects for colour and sharpness really easily. They have the "step" in the cutoff where the E46 (ECE) projectors have a kick up. The newest Nissan projector vehicles all have a step and I wanted to stick with that trend. The TSX projectors are easily available (more so than the E46 projectors) and they are just as cheap if not cheaper.

Right now the cutoff isn't as sharp as I'd like it to be, but I have plans on fixing that next summer. The 300ZX lenses fit onto the TSX projector housing with very little modification and you end up with a sharper and more colourful cutoff, so make sure you do that when you swap. Apparently the colour and cutoff is better for a TSX with a 300ZX lens than a straight S2000 projector setup. I haven't seen patterns to prove this though.

Other than that, the only other thing that you have to think about is that the 300ZX glass housing is extremely thick, and it weakens the sharpness of the cutoff a bit. I hate that about my setup, that's why I'm planning on taking it back apart and trying put it together for a sharper cutoff with trial and error.
Good luck with your swap
